Keeping People Safe

There’s a whirlwind of change brewing in the communication universe and we're not in Kansas anymore. Innovation, animation, gamification, and AI are all coming together to mold an exhilarating future – let's just hope Sky Net doesn't ruin it. But let's cut to the chase – we often downplay these groundbreaking gems. It's like a universal ritual – we tend to brush off things that aren't entirely in our comfort zone.

You know how some folks who don’t like football say, "Football is just a bunch of people chasing a ball"? Well, let's take the recent World Cup Final as an example. It's a rollercoaster of emotions, a symphony of science, fitness, skill, and tactics that brings people together worldwide, igniting genuine passion. Anyone who thinks it’s “Just a bunch of people kicking a ball“ just doesn’t understand football. Now, animation – often relegated to the kiddie corner – is a true dynamo of communication and similarly misunderstood.

So, let's take a plunge into the enchanted world of animation. I am slightly biased granted, but It's not just about pixels putting on a show; it's a complete visual language capable of unlocking the most complex messages. Imagine the art of turning intricate ideas into approachable visual narratives. And can you believe it? Kids are absolutely smitten with animations. But here's the twist – there are those who see this as a downside. They peg animation as solely kids' stuff. Well, slow your roll! In the same spirit as Ben Stiller's epic line from "Dodgeball" in 2004 – "If you can catch a wrench, you can catch a dodgeball" – let's apply that here: "If you can hook a kid, you can hook an adult.

In a world where our attention span rivals that of a fish, engaging communication is the modern-day ark of the covenant. It's not about tossing facts like confetti; it's about weaving an experience that sticks with you. Now, get down to business - at Carse & Waterman we have four key pillars: Fuelling business growth, Ensuring People's Safety, Simplifying Education, and Conjuring Universal Communication Magic.

But I wanted this post to focus on keeping people safe sooo Speaking of safety, as we put the finishing touches on another Health & Safety animation for our lovely clients at Viridor – a bigwig in national Waste Management – I'm reminded of the crucial challenge at hand. What we create has stakes; if not done right, people could be in harm's way. Safety is our ultimate game. Our animations have saved lives, supported people through chemo, and guided companies away from the edge of disaster saving millions in the process. Quite the leap from the world of cartoons, right?

Our escapades in Health and Safety, have previously partnered with heavyweights like Amec Foster Wheeler, Viridor, Penon, and Michelin. But here's the scoop – animation's just the tip of the iceberg. Using animation alongside learning management systems, gamification, and other emerging tech makes it even more possible and we can continue to ensure people remain connected to the content we create and ensure we have the perfect tool for the job and the perfect visual style for the story.

Health and Safety often get delivered through PowerPoint presentations or marathon videos that could put anyone to sleep. But hey, it's 2023, and tech's made things more accessible than ever. Investing in staff safety has never been this hassle-free. So, is it time to revamp how you welcome new staff, greet visitors, and keep your folks safe?

But rather than going on about it, let the animation do the talking. Here in an animation we crafted for one of our clients to keep their staff safe.

Take care,

Daniel Waterman
