Why animation works
From box-ticking to behaviour change.
A manual gets skimmed. A slideshow gets sat through. A well-made animation gets watched, understood and remembered.
Grabs attention
Far more engaging than a manual or a slideshow, so the message gets through first time.
Breaks language barriers
Clear visuals and multilingual subtitles work for diverse workforces, without relying on dense text.
Consistent everywhere
The same training every time, across every site, shift and trainer.
Proves compliance
A clear, repeatable record of training that supports HSE requirements and your risk assessments.
Saves time
No more repeating the same live induction for every new starter, contractor or visitor.
Sticks when it matters
Characters and stories people remember on site, not just in the training room.
The cost of training that doesn’t stick
- Accidents, injuries and lost time
- Legal and compliance risk
- Low engagement from staff and contractors
- The same induction, repeated again and again
What animated training gives you
- Fewer incidents
- Simple proof that training happened
- Better attention and retention
- Hours saved for your team
Case studies
Real sites. Real results.

Amec Foster Wheeler
Clearer inductions, fewer repeated briefings
- The problem
- The team were spending valuable time repeating critical site rules to contractors who weren’t engaged, and the core safety message wasn’t sticking.
- What we did
- An engaging visitor safety animation that made every rule clear, consistent and easy to follow.
- The result
- Visitors genuinely engaged with the content, and compliance became easier to prove.

UTS
Breaking down language barriers
- The problem
- With a diverse workforce, critical safety rules were getting lost in translation. Text-heavy inductions meant vital information was being missed.
- What we did
- Clear visual storytelling that shows people exactly what to do, and what not to do, supported by multilingual subtitles.
- The result
- Less confusion on site and fewer repeat briefings.

Viridor
One animation, many sites
- The problem
- Every site had its own risks, and separate briefings or toolbox talks for each location were inconsistent.
- What we did
- One core safety animation built around a single message, with site-specific visuals for each location.
- The result
- Clear, consistent safety training across every site, and easy to update.
From the work

Over a decade of keeping people safe
What we make.
For more than ten years we’ve helped health and safety teams turn compliance into animated safety videos people remember.
“Health and safety is never a joke, but it can be fun, and that’s why animated videos are so effective.”
Gary Carse, Creative Director
“Working with C&W was an absolute joy. They were able to guide me through the animation process, offering substantial experience and always taking my needs into account. I wouldn’t hesitate to work with them again.”
“It was a pleasure to work with Carse & Waterman. They quickly grasped our complex brief and produced a simple yet captivating animated infographic.”
“They have delivered a number of projects for us… They are creative, versatile and full of ideas. Dan and the team are easy to work with.”
Delivery, not just the video
Watched, tested and tracked.
A great safety video only works if it reaches the right people and sticks. So we don’t stop at making it. We plan how your training is delivered, usually through a learning management system (LMS), so every person watches, answers and passes before they start work.
Module 3 · Working at height
Knowledge check · Question 1 of 3
When working at height, what must you make sure of at all times?
Tap an answer to try it.
- Fits your LMSCourses built to work with the learning management system you already use, or help choosing one if you don’t.
- Knowledge checksShort questions after each chapter, so understanding is tested, not just attendance.
- Pass before accessSet the standard people must reach before they go on site or start a task.
- Records for auditsWho watched what, who passed and when refreshers are due, all in one place.
Beyond the screen
Characters that stay on site.
The characters and scenarios people remember from the training follow them into the real workplace, on posters, signs and cut-outs. Every time someone sees them, the message is reinforced, right where it matters.

Good questions
Safety video questions, answered.
- How long should a safety induction video be?
- Most site inductions work best at 5–10 minutes, split into short chapters so people stay focused and you can update one part without remaking the whole film.
- Can the video match our site and our rules?
- Yes. We build your site layout, PPE, vehicles and procedures into the animation, so visitors see the place they're about to walk into.
- Why animation instead of filming on site?
- Animation can show hazards safely, stays accurate when the site changes, needs no shutdown for filming, and works across languages.
